BarKey was written for the HP Jornada 720 Handheld PC.  It allows the attachment of a serial barcode scanner to the COM port, and simulates keystrokes to the foreground application.

The current version has several limitations, including:

• Fixed communications settings (COM1, 9600 baud, 8N1)
• Only handles numeric barcodes (only simulates number keys)
• Always simulates an ENTER key following the barcode (assumes barcode reader is programmed to send a carriage return)
